Drain Installation Guide

Tools Needed for Drain Installation:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Pipe cutter
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe sealant tape
  • Bucket for water collection

Step-by-Step Drain Installation

  1. Position Drain Hose: Ensure drain hose is properly positioned in standpipe or laundry tub with minimum 30cm height.
  2. Check Drain Height: Verify drain height is between 60-90cm from floor level for optimal performance.
  3. Secure Drain Connections: Tighten all drain hose connections to prevent leaks and ensure proper seal.
  4. Create High Loop: Form a high loop in the drain hose to prevent backflow and siphoning.
  5. Test Drain System: Run a quick drain cycle to check for proper water flow and no leaks.
  6. Inspect Drain Pump: Ensure drain pump filter is clean and accessible for maintenance.
  7. Final Drain Check: Verify complete water drainage during spin cycle and proper shut-off.
Warning: Proper drain installation is crucial to prevent water damage and ensure efficient operation. Follow all local plumbing codes.

Drain System Troubleshooting

Drain Problem Possible Cause Solution
Water not draining Clogged drain filter, kinked hose, drain pump failure Clean drain filter, check hose for kinks, test drain pump operation
Slow draining Partial blockage, incorrect drain height, pump issues Clear obstructions, verify proper drain height, inspect pump
Drain error codes Sensor failure, electrical issues, mechanical blockage Check error code meaning, inspect sensors, clear obstructions
Water leaking from drain Loose connections, damaged hose, worn seals Tighten connections, replace damaged components, check seals
Unusual drain noises Foreign objects in pump, worn bearings, air in system Check for objects, inspect pump assembly, bleed air from system
Drain cycle too long Restricted flow, low water pressure, sensor issues Check for restrictions, verify water pressure, test sensors

Drain System Error Codes

  • OE: Drain time exceeded - Check for blockages and proper drain setup
  • DE: Door open during drain - Ensure door is properly closed
  • FE: Flood detection - Check for leaks and water overflow
  • PE: Pressure sensor error - Check water level sensors
  • LE: Drain motor error - Inspect drain pump and connections
  • HE: Heating during drain - Check heating element operation
