Emergency Drain Procedures

Tools Needed:

  • Large shallow pan or bucket
  • Towels or rags
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Flashlight

Step-by-Step Manual Drain Process

  1. Power Off: Unplug the washing machine from the electrical outlet for safety.
  2. Access Drain Filter: Locate the drain filter access panel, typically at the bottom front of the machine.
  3. Prepare for Water: Place towels and a shallow pan in front of the access panel to catch water.
  4. Open Filter Cap: Slowly turn the drain filter cap counterclockwise to open. Water will begin to drain out.
  5. Drain Water: Allow all water to drain completely into the pan. Empty pan as needed.
  6. Clean Filter: Remove any debris or foreign objects from the drain filter.
  7. Reinstall Filter: Securely replace the drain filter and close the access panel.
  8. Check Operation: Plug in machine and run a test cycle to ensure proper drainage.
