Manual Drain Procedures

Tools Needed for Drain Maintenance:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Bucket or container
  • Pliers
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Towels for cleanup

Step-by-Step Manual Drain Process

  1. Power Off: Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the electrical outlet for safety.
  2. Locate Drain Hose: Find the drain hose at the back of the washing machine, typically positioned near the bottom.
  3. Prepare Container: Place a bucket or large container under the drain hose to catch water.
  4. Disconnect Drain Hose: Carefully loosen the clamp and disconnect the drain hose from the washing machine or drain pipe.
  5. Drain Water: Allow water to flow into the container. Tilt the hose to ensure complete drainage.
  6. Check for Blockages: Inspect the drain hose and pump filter for any obstructions or debris.
  7. Reconnect Hose: Securely reconnect the drain hose and tighten the clamp to prevent leaks.
  8. Test Operation: Plug in the washing machine and run a short drain cycle to verify proper operation.
