Preparation Steps

Clean Detergent Dispenser

Remove and clean the detergent, softener, and bleach dispensers before starting the tub clean cycle.

Cleaning Procedure

Step-by-Step Tub Cleaning

  1. Empty the Drum: Ensure the washing machine drum is completely empty of all clothing and items.
  2. Add Cleaning Agent: Place one LG Tub Clean tablet directly into the empty drum. If using vinegar, pour 2 cups into the detergent dispenser.
  3. Select Tub Clean Program: Press the Program button until "Tub Clean" appears on the display.
  4. Start Cycle: Close the door and press the Start/Pause button to begin the cleaning cycle.
  5. Allow Completion: The cycle will run for approximately 80 minutes. Do not interrupt the cycle.
  6. Wipe Interior: After completion, wipe the inside of the drum and door seal with a clean, dry cloth.
  7. Leave Door Open: Keep the door slightly ajar between uses to allow air circulation and prevent moisture buildup.

Post-Cleaning Maintenance

  • Leave the washing machine door open for at least 30 minutes after cleaning to air dry
  • Clean the detergent dispenser drawer monthly
  • Wipe the door glass and rubber gasket after each use
  • Check and clean the drain pump filter every 3 months
  • Run a rinse cycle if cleaning agent smell persists
