Drain Installation Guide

Tools Needed for Drain Installation:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Pipe cutter
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe sealant tape
  • Bucket and towels

Step-by-Step Drain Installation

  1. Prepare Drain Location: Select a location with proper drainage slope and access to waste pipe connection.
  2. Install Drain Hose: Connect the drain hose to the dishwasher pump outlet using hose clamps.
  3. Connect to Waste System: Route the drain hose to the sink drain or garbage disposal with proper air gap installation.
  4. Create High Loop: Form a high loop in the drain hose under the sink to prevent backflow and siphoning.
  5. Secure Connections: Ensure all hose clamps are tight and connections are secure to prevent leaks.
  6. Test Drain System: Run a quick drain cycle to check for proper drainage and no leaks.
  7. Final Inspection: Verify all connections are watertight and drain hose is properly supported.
Warning: All drain installations must comply with local plumbing codes and be performed by a qualified installer to ensure proper operation and maintain warranty coverage.

Drain System Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Dishwasher not draining Clogged drain hose, blocked filter, drain pump failure Check drain hose for obstructions, clean filter, verify pump operation
Slow draining Partially clogged drain, kinked hose, food debris Inspect drain path, straighten hose, remove food particles from filter
Water remains in bottom Clogged filter, drain hose blockage, improper installation Clean filter thoroughly, check drain hose, verify proper slope
Drain pump noisy Foreign objects in pump, worn bearings, loose components Check for foreign objects, inspect pump assembly, tighten connections
Drain error codes Sensor issues, pump failure, electrical problems Check error code meaning, inspect electrical connections, test pump
Water backing up Sink drain clogged, air gap blocked, improper connection Clear sink drain, clean air gap, verify proper waste connection

Drain System Error Codes

  • DE: Drain error - Check drain hose and pump for obstructions
  • OE: Overflow error - Water level too high, check drain system
  • IE: Water inlet error - May affect drainage, check water supply
  • FE: Flooding detected - Immediate attention required
  • LE: Motor issue - Drain pump failure, contact service
  • PE: Pressure sensor error - Affects water level detection
