Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Wire strippers
  • Voltage tester
  • Level
  • Drill (if needed for mounting)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Turn Off Power: Turn off power to the HVAC system at the circuit breaker to ensure safety during installation.
  2. Remove Old Thermostat: Carefully remove the cover of your existing thermostat and take a photo of the wiring for reference.
  3. Label Wires: Label each wire according to its terminal connection (R, C, W, Y, G, etc.) using the provided labels.
  4. Mount New Base: Position the new thermostat base on the wall and use a level to ensure it's straight before marking screw holes.
  5. Connect Wires: Connect the labeled wires to the corresponding terminals on the new thermostat base, ensuring secure connections.
  6. Attach Thermostat: Carefully snap the thermostat onto the mounted base until it clicks into place.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and follow the setup wizard on the thermostat display.
  8. Wi-Fi Setup: Connect the thermostat to your home Wi-Fi network using the LG ThinQ app for smart features.
