Troubleshooting Guide

Quick Reset Procedures

  1. Power Cycle: Unplug the washing machine for 5 minutes, then plug back in
  2. Error Clear: Press and hold the Start/Pause button for 5 seconds
  3. Factory Reset: Hold Temperature and Spin buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds

Reset Procedures

Basic Power Reset

Unplug the washing machine from the power outlet for 5-10 minutes. This clears temporary errors and resets the electronic control board.

Error Code Clear

Press and hold the Start/Pause button for 5-10 seconds until the error code disappears from the display. This works for most temporary errors.

Factory Reset

Simultaneously press and hold the Temperature and Spin Speed buttons for 3 seconds. This restores all settings to factory defaults.

Memory Clear

Unplug the machine, wait 1 minute, then while plugging back in, press and hold the Power and Delay Start buttons for 10 seconds.

Child Lock Reset

Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3-5 seconds. If unresponsive, perform a basic power reset first.

Wi-Fi Reset

Hold the SmartThinQ button for 10 seconds to reset network connections. Reconnect through the LG ThinQ app.

Reset Sequence for Persistent Errors

  1. Unplug the washing machine from power
  2. Wait 10 minutes for complete discharge
  3. Check and clean all filters and hoses
  4. Plug back into power
  5. Perform factory reset procedure
  6. Run test cycle without load
