Disassembly Procedures

Required Tools:

  • Torx screwdriver set (T10-T25)
  • Phillips screwdrivers (#1, #2)
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Nut drivers (7mm, 8mm, 10mm)
  • Multimeter
  • Panel removal tools

Step-by-Step Disassembly

  1. Top Panel Removal: Remove rear screws and slide top panel backward to release from front clips.
  2. Control Panel Access: Detach wiring connectors and remove mounting screws to access control board.
  3. Front Panel Removal: Remove lower kick plate, disconnect door lock mechanism, and detach front panel clips.
  4. Door Assembly Access: Remove door hinge covers and detach door lock wiring to access door mechanism.
  5. Drum Access: Remove counterweight, drive belt (if applicable), and front support to access drum assembly.
  6. Motor Removal: Disconnect motor wiring, remove mounting bolts, and carefully extract Direct Drive motor.
  7. Pump Assembly: Drain residual water, disconnect hoses, and remove drain pump assembly.
Warning: Always disconnect power before servicing. Follow proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions when handling electronic components.

Diagnostic Procedures

Error Code Description Diagnostic Procedure
LE Motor Error Check motor wiring, measure motor resistance (should be 2-5Ω between phases)
FE Flooding Error Check flood switch continuity, inspect for water leaks in base pan
TE Temperature Error Test NTC sensor resistance (10kΩ at 25°C), check heater continuity
DE Door Lock Error Measure door lock resistance, check microswitch operation
PE Pressure Sensor Error Test pressure sensor voltage (0.5-4.5V), check air tube for blockages
IE Water Inlet Error Test inlet valve coils (2-4kΩ), check water pressure (20-116 psi)

Advanced Diagnostics

Motor Testing

Measure phase-to-phase resistance (2-5Ω) and insulation resistance (>10MΩ). Check hall sensor signals during drum rotation.

Control Board Diagnostics

Verify power supply voltages (+12V, +5V), test communication lines, check for burnt components or cold solder joints.

Sensor Calibration

Perform pressure sensor zero calibration, verify temperature sensor accuracy, calibrate load sensing system.

Repair Instructions

Motor Replacement

Remove rear panel, disconnect motor wiring, remove mounting bolts. Install new motor with proper torque specifications (8-10 Nm).

Drum Bearing Service

Complete disassembly required. Remove spider assembly, press out old bearings, install new bearings with proper alignment.

Control Board Repair

Identify faulty components using schematic. Replace relays, capacitors, or power transistors as needed. Test all functions after repair.

Door Seal Replacement

Remove front panel, release spring wire retainer. Clean seating surface, install new seal with proper alignment and lubrication.

Shock Absorber Service

Access through base panel. Remove mounting bolts, compress and remove old shocks. Install new shocks with proper orientation.

Heater Element Replacement

Access through rear panel. Disconnect wiring, remove mounting nuts. Install new element with proper thermal compound and torque.

Torque Specifications

Motor Mounting Bolts 8-10 Nm
Counterweight Bolts 15-20 Nm
Shock Absorber Bolts 12-15 Nm
