Preparation Steps
Cleaning Frequency | Every 30 washes or monthly |
Recommended Cleaner | LG Tub Cleaner or white vinegar |
Water Temperature | Hot (60°C or higher) |
Cycle Time | Approximately 2 hours |
Drum Capacity | Empty - no clothes |
Materials Needed
- LG Tub Cleaner: Specifically formulated for LG washers
- Alternative: 2 cups white vinegar or bleach (check compatibility)
- Cleaning Cloth: Soft microfiber cloth
- Rubber Gloves: For hand protection
- Small Brush: For door seal cleaning
Before starting, ensure the washing machine is empty and the power is connected.
Cleaning Process
Step 1: Prepare the Washer
Ensure the washing machine is completely empty. Remove any items from the drum, including small forgotten items. Wipe the door glass and rubber seal with a damp cloth.
Step 2: Add Cleaning Agent
Pour LG Tub Cleaner directly into the drum. If using alternative cleaners, add 2 cups of white vinegar or approved bleach to the detergent dispenser or directly into the drum.
Step 3: Select Tub Clean Cycle
Press the Power button. Turn the cycle selector knob to "Tub Clean" or press the dedicated Tub Clean button on the control panel. The cycle will start automatically.
Step 4: Run Complete Cycle
Allow the cycle to complete uninterrupted. The cycle typically includes hot water washing and high-speed spinning to remove all residue and buildup.
Step 5: Wipe Interior
After cycle completion, wipe the inside of the drum, door glass, and rubber seal with a clean damp cloth to remove any remaining residue.
Step 6: Leave Door Open
Leave the washer door slightly open after cleaning to allow air circulation and prevent mold growth. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
