Emergency Drain Procedures

Tools Needed:

  • Towels or rags
  • Shallow pan or bucket
  • Pliers
  • Screwdriver
  • Flashlight

Step-by-Step Manual Drain Process

  1. Power Off: Turn off the washing machine and unplug it from the electrical outlet for safety.
  2. Locate Drain Filter: Find the drain filter access panel, typically located at the bottom front of the machine.
  3. Prepare for Water: Place towels on the floor and position a shallow pan or bucket in front of the access panel.
  4. Open Access Panel: Use a screwdriver or coin to open the drain filter cover. Some models may require pressing a tab.
  5. Remove Drain Hose: Slowly remove the drain hose from its housing. Water will begin to flow out - direct it into your container.
  6. Clean Filter: Once water stops flowing, remove and clean the drain filter of any debris or foreign objects.
  7. Reassemble: Replace the filter, reinsert the drain hose, and close the access panel securely.
Warning: Always disconnect power before performing any drain maintenance. Have towels ready as some water spillage may occur.
