Dishwasher Drain System

Drain Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pipe wrench
  • Bucket
  • Towel
  • Plumber's tape

Step-by-Step Drain Installation

  1. Prepare Installation Area: Ensure the dishwasher is disconnected from power and water supply before beginning drain installation.
  2. Access Drain Components: Remove the lower front panel to access the drain pump and hose connections.
  3. Connect Drain Hose: Attach the drain hose to the drain pump outlet, ensuring a secure connection with hose clamps.
  4. Route Drain Hose: Route the drain hose to the sink drain or garbage disposal with a high loop to prevent backflow.
  5. Secure Connections: Use hose clamps to secure all connections and prevent leaks during operation.
  6. Check Air Gap: If required by local codes, install and connect the air gap device to prevent backflow contamination.
  7. Test Drain System: Run a short drain cycle to check for leaks and proper drainage before full operation.
